Transportation

Please note that there will be buses for the transfer between the hotels and the conference venue arranged for you during the duration of the conference.  Please inform the organizing office no later than Friday 27th August, by email, which hotel you will be staying at so that times for pick up can be confirmed.

Visas

A foreign citizen who wishes to enter the United Kingdom must have a valid passport and are required to obtain a visa. An application for entry clearance as a visitor can be made at any British diplomatic post offering a visa service. All other entry clearance applications must be made to the British diplomatic post in the country or territory where you are living. A list of the British diplomatic posts is available from the Foreign and Commonwealth Office website.

Letter of invitation

The Secretariat is pleased to issue an official invitation letter for a participant to attend the conference as per request. This may assist her/him to get an appropriate visa. However, the invitation document does not imply any responsibility or liability on behalf of the conference organizers for travel or other expenses.

Currency

The British Pound is the currency of United Kingdom. The currency code for Pounds is GBP, and the currency symbol is £. Denominations are 5, 10, 20, and 50 £ notes; 1, 2, 5, 10, 20 and 50 pence coins and 1 and 2 £ coins.

Electricity

Electrical voltage/frequency in the UK is 230 volts. Electrical outlets are three-pronged.

Climate

East Anglia is one of the driest regions in the UK and is classed as semi-arid. September temperatures can vary from highs of 20° to lows of 10°.

Liability and insurance

The Organizing Committee is not responsible for any liability of loss, damage, injury, etc incurring from accident, illness, whatever causes, that may occur during the period of the conference. Appropriate travel, accident and health insurances are strongly recommended.

Credit cards

Credit cards, including American Express, Diners Club, Visa, and Master Card are accepted by hotels, department stores, and restaurants.

Airports

London Heathrow – most airlines will have flights to Heathrow. Transport links by bus and train are available from the terminal. Journey time to Norwich approximately 4 hours.
London Gatwick - most airlines will have flights to Gatwick. Transport links by bus and train are available from the terminal. Journey time to Norwich approximately 3 hours.
London Stansted - some airlines will have flights to Stanstead. Transport links by bus and train are available from the terminal. Journey time to Norwich approximately 2 hours.
Norwich International – Norwich Internal Airport is North of the City and is approximately 30 minutes drive from the Conference Centre facilities and 20 minutes from the City Centre. The airport provides links to over 70 European and 400 international destinations via the international hub of Schiphol-Amsterdam. The city centre and there is a regular bus service.
