European Databases


The European Databases:

These pages include the most recent information about the food composition databases in European.

The food composition database information is based on an inventory (D1.6.1) carried out by the EuroFIR work packages 1.4, 1.5 and 1.6 in 2005 and the information has been updated when new information has become available.


Organisation of the inventory data

The inventory is structured by countries. For each country, the major institutions involved in the production or compilation of food composition databases are listed. For each institution, the information given by the the institution is listed.

TUBITAKTurkeyTurkey does not have its own food composition data base/documentation. There are some national collected (some countries and international data) studies. However not used widely. Mostly used FCDB are German’s and USDA.

This website is under constant development and the current layout presented as an example of how the EuroFIR Technical Website could appear. It is given as part of the EuroFIR Prototype given in the EuroFIR Technical specifications report.
