Document Repository services
Dissemination and retrieval of food composition documents
The EuroFIR Document Repository provides access to food composition articles pre-selected from the journal literature, together with analytical reports, posters and other documents previously not readily accessible online. EuroFIR AISBL members will be able to access the Repository through a planned EuroFIR interface to the CiteXplore bibliographic database. Food composition reported in documents will also be available as data packets, free to members, through the EuroFIR Data Repository.
Pre-selection of relevant journal articles
Key journals are scanned for articles that report food composition data or other information relevant to the compilation of food composition databases. Selected articles will be accessible through the EuroFIR website and are also flagged in the CiteXplore bibliographic database. This includes records from PubMed and Agricola, as well as extra records added by EuroFIR.
Document listings and access
Journal articles and other documents selected for inclusion in the Document Repository can be accessed through listings on the EuroFIR website and through the CiteXplore bibliographic database. Links are provided to the full-text documents where these are available online.
Improved dissemination of own online documents
EuroFIR will create CiteXplore records for members' scientific documents, such as reports and posters, as well as adding items relevant for food composition to the Document Repository. As a result, CiteXplore and Document Repository users will easily locate the documents and retrieve them through the links to the online full-text files, making members' documents much more widely accessible. Even when the document is not available online, a link to its CiteXplore record can provide further information such as an English title and abstract. For example, the Czech food composition database links a reference's title to the corresponding CiteXplore record, as for a report on the composition of fast foods.
