How does one find a copy of the latest version of the EuroFIR Component thesaurus? a search on Google indicates(http://www.eurofir.net/eurofir_aisbl/products/eurofir_thesauri/component_thesaurus), but if you did not know better, this page seems like an internal discussion page – not general information about the EuroFIR Component Identifiers.

A new user (who could be an old compiler !-) would find:
    (1) the page does not give any information about the current public version of the thesaurus (which is still version 1.0)
    (2) There is no Component thesaurus on this page. The published version Component thesaurus 1.1 and 1.2 deliverables (found in a completely different page on the website) are not the full thesaurus – it is discussion papers. The webpage does not give a hint of where to find other information, i.e. EuroFIR thesauri.

If we want compilers involved in discussions on the EuroFIR thesauri, they need to find the most recent information in a place they would normally search, not "Why join" !

These comments can be considered as the 3 points:

    1. Navigation to the information on thesauri in general and the Component Thesaurus in particular.
    2. Content and style of the webpages for EuroFIR Thesauri and the Component Thesaurus
    3. How to provide access to the current and archive thesauri and draft revisions

The navigation needs to be discussed.  It would be preferable to have top-level to either "Services" or "Products".  The "Why join" page(s) could also have an overview of the offerings, but access to the information tools needs to be clearer.  The Components Thesaurus page aims to provide specific information about the thesaurus that is not general to all the thesauri.  It is not final and any suggestions for additions or improvements to the text would be appreciated.

Access to the thesauri uses Thesaurus Manager, either to view them directly or to produce reports.  We need to discuss and decide how final versions should be accessed, by one of these routes or both.  Both have problems.  Direct access currently provides a full list, not an external choice of (and link to) the thesaurus to view.  It is also insecure.  The reports are not fully accurate, because they list de-activated terms without any indication of their status.  We need to consider how the thesauri are best viewed on the website and implement any agreed changes to the Thesaurus Manager tool and the webpages.  There is a separate forum for discussing Thesaurus Manager.
