EuroFIR and Eurofoods

EUROFOODS is a regional subgroup of the International Network of Food Data Systems (INFOODS), focusing on the harmonisation and compatibility of food composition data across Europe. Established in the early 1980s, it aims to facilitate the exchange of nutritional information among European countries. EUROFOODS collaborates with various national and international organisations to standardise food data, enhancing the quality and accessibility of nutritional information for research, policy-making, and public health initiatives.

Many experts and organisations involved in EUROFOODS are also part of EuroFIR. This overlap ensures that knowledge and advancements in food composition are effectively shared and implemented across both groups.
