The Food and Nutrition Department (DAN) of the National Institute of Health Doutor Ricardo Jorge (INSA, IP) will host the 17th Annual PortFIR Meeting and the 6th International Conference on Food Contaminants (ICFC2025) from 24 to 26 September 2025, at the Auditorium of the Museu de Eletricidade Casa da Luz, in Funchal, Madeira Island, Portugal.
The 17th Annual PortFIR Meeting, taking place on 24 September, will be dedicated to the theme “Food Safety: Governance, science and new production models in the face of global challenges”.
The 6th International Conference on Food Contaminants (ICFC2025) will follow on 25–26 September 2025, focusing on “Challenges of Emerging Contaminants and Planetary Health”.
Both events share a common objective: to address and deepen understanding of current and emerging challenges in food safety, including governance, regulation, risk communication, sustainability and human health.
