EuroFIR Internship Opportunity: Apply Now!

EuroFIR welcomes applications for paid internships and the Erasmus+ programme. If you are interested in sending your application, please address the following key points in your application:

1. Motivation for applying to EuroFIR

Your application must clearly explain why you are interested in spending time with EuroFIR, demonstrating some understanding of the association’s activities. It is important that applicants have explored EuroFIR’s work and can articulate how their goals (see 3 below) align with EuroFIR’s mission and objectives.

2. Relevance of experience

Although applicants will have limited experience, it is crucial to show how your background/ studies relate to EuroFIR’s activities. Applications must reflect an interest in food data. EuroFIR is looking for candidates who can connect their experiences, passions, or academic interests to the association’s areas of interest.

3. Proposed activities during the visit

Applications must outline activities the individual would like to engage in during their time with EuroFIR, highlighting how the proposed work will benefit both EuroFIR and you. While support will be provided to help refine learning goals, applicants are expected to propose some concrete ideas of what they aim to achieve.

4. Contribution to EuroFIR

Applicants should highlight existing skills and explain how they can contribute to EuroFIR’s work, whether technical abilities, research expertise, or other relevant strengths (e.g., social media).

Finally, EuroFIR believes that unpaid internships are unfair and potentially exploitative. Therefore, applicants are required to ensure that their internship is fully funded.

EuroFIR does not offer placements for 16-18 year olds, or those without the relevant permissions to live and work in Europe and Belgium specifically.

We do not offer remote internships.

We prefer graduate students (MSc and PhD students), but – provided applications meet the criteria above – fair consideration will be given to applications from final-year undergraduate students.

Send your CV with a covering lettering, explaining how your experience is relevant, what you can bring to this post and why you are interested in joining EuroFIR to [email protected] with the subject header Ref. Internship – application.
