Dr. Laura Kirwan (Nutritics) Joins World Food Forum Young Scientists Group (2025–2027)

Dr. Laura Kirwan, Sustainability Lead at Nutritics, has been selected as the first Irish member of the World Food Forum (WFF) Young Scientists Group (YSG) for the 2025–2027 cohort. The group, which includes 24 emerging scientists from 23 countries, aims to provide scientific evidence and technical knowledge to inform the WFF Youth Initiative.

The WFF YSG is an initiative under the United Nations’ Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) which produces biennial reports on agrifood systems transformation. As a member of the YSG, Dr. Kirwan will contribute to the reports published up to 2027, engage in discussions within the Youth Assembly, Youth Innovation Lab, and Youth Education Programme, and provide scientific input aligned with the FAO’s Four Betters framework: Better Production, Better Nutrition, Better Environment, and Better Life. Laura will be actively working on the Better Nutrition Group, where she looks forward to incorporating knowledge and data gaps around consumption and composition nutrition data into the technical outputs.
