AIM
Depression, anxiety and stress are predictable and preventable mental health (MH) conditions that are widespread in Europe and beyond, often emerging early in life and persisting across the life span. This multi-disciplinary consortium of 15 partners consists of universities, research institutes, NGOs and SME that will close knowledge-to-action gaps by (i) analysing and integrating existing European cohorts and trials; (ii) identifying diet-linked risk signatures (dietary quality, nutrient status, microbiome features) associated with anxiety/ depression/stress trajectories; (iii) testing light-touch, scalable dietary improvements that can be incorporated into care pathways; and (iv) embedding equity and life-course analyses so that benefits reach vulnerable high-risk groups across socioeconomic contexts and genders. Through stakeholder engagement and co-creation, it aims to promote sustainable behaviour change, support healthcare and policy, and strengthen the long-term prevention of mental health conditions in Europe
Role of EuroFIR AISBL in NUTRIMIND
EuroFIR is a key partner responsible for ensuring that NUTRIMIND’s research is effectively communicated, disseminated, translated into policy, and ultimately taken up by relevant stakeholders. In particular, EuroFIR leads WP9 (Communication, Dissemination and Synergies), including the development and updating of the Dissemination, Communication and Engagement Plan, early dissemination, stakeholder engagement and visibility activities. EuroFIR also leads WP10 (Exploitation, Policy Uptake and Capacity Building), with responsibility for the second phase of outreach and policy translation, including stakeholder workshops and evidence-based policy briefs aimed at integrating nutrition into mental-health strategies. In addition, EuroFIR contributes to project management and exploitation planning, and has a role in ethics monitoring and training. EuroFIR’s role is essentially to bridge NUTRIMIND’s research with its external audiences, stakeholders and policymakers, ensuring that project results are communicated, exploited, translated into actionable policy and sustained beyond the project lifetime.
