The aim of the discussion is to find/propose the best way to flag/describe values in the FCDBs as such.

One option is using the EuroFIR Method type thesaurus: "Calculated as recipe"

    • Which compilers have experience with that?
    • Does any compiler has another suggestion?
    • Do you believe that values need a more evident flagging in the FCDB, when they are calculated?

I believe that calculated values need an evident flagging in the FCDB. Beside the flag, the calculation date needs to be clearly documented as composition data of ingredients may change.

What kind of information on recipes should be provided by the EuroFIR eSearch facility?

As well as using the Method Type "Calculated as recipe" [R], there are Method Indicator (MI) terms to provide extra information.  The MI thesaurus version 1.3 has revised recipe calculation terms, as described on page 12 of the Thesaurus Report (Nexus deliverable 1.11).  The MI terms for recipe calculation should be discussed further with a view to further revisions for version 2.0.
